Q1. 안녕하세요, 간단한 자기소개 부탁드립니다.

- 네, 안녕하세요. 밴드 노브레인의 드러머 황현성입니다. 요즘은 어린이 프로그램 음악감독도 하고 있고, 게임 음악 애니메이션도 만들면서 잡다한 활동들을 겸하고 있어요.(웃음) 더불어 오늘은 영화의 공동 프로듀서이자 배우로서 JIMFF를 찾았습니다!

Q1. It’s pleasure to meet you. Please introduce yourself briefly.

- It’s pleasure to meet you. Please introduce yourself briefly. Hi. I’m Hwang Hyun-sung, the Drummer from the band Nobrain. These days, I’m doing miscellaneous activities like directing music of children’s program and making game music animation. (Laugh) Today, I visited JIMFF as a coproducer and actor of the film <Fiction & Other Realities>!

 

Q2. 영화 감독 빅포니님과 ‘음악 들려주는 영화관’ 공연에 참여하셨는데 소감이 어떠세요?

- 우선 저는 언제나 빅포니한테 고마워요. 빅포니, 그러니까 바비가 늘 저를 되게 믿어주고 가장 친한 친구로 생각해주거든요. 서로 바빠서 자주 만나지는 못하지만 믿어주고 마음을 내주는 친구와 함께 공연하게되어 더 좋았던 것 같아요. 그런데 오늘은 관객들한테도 너무 고마웠어요. 사실 만든 사람 입장에서는 항상 티가 보이고 흐름의 문제가 보이잖아요. 날이 많이 더웠는데 관객분들이 정말 좋게 봐주시는게 느껴지더라고요. 그 덕분에 제 불안감이 다 사라졌어요. 영화에 대한 자신감도 생기고.

Q2. You took a part in the performance of ‘Music Theater’ with Big Pony, the director of the movie . How do you feel?

- First of all, I always thank Big Pony. Big Pony, I mean Bobby, always trusts me very much and thinks of me as his best friend. We can't see each other often, but it was even better to perform with a friend who trusts me. But I also appreciated the audience today. In fact, the creator always catches flaws and the problem of flow. Tough it was very hot, I could feel that the audience treated me really well. Thanks to them, my anxiety has gone away. I became confident in the movie, too.

 

Q3.이미 공연은 끝났지만 함께 연주한 곡 중 추천해주고 싶은 노래가 있으신가요?

- 먼저 ‘Bedford stop’입니다! 노브레인 멤버 전원이 가장 사랑하는 빅포니의 노래이고요, 다음으로는 ‘Ready or not’을 말씀드리고 싶어요. 오늘 공연에서도 선보인 곡이고 유튜브를 검색해보시면 뮤직비디오가 있는데요, 이 영화의 비하인드 버전이라고 보시면 됩니다. 마지막으로 ‘Back to Seoul’은 정말 저희 영화의 상징인 노래예요. 바비라는 뮤지션이 국제적인 정체성에 대해 고민하고, 자기 정체성을 발견하고, 사랑했다가 이별 했다가 친구도 만났다가... 하며 겪는 이야기가 담겼거든요. 실제로 영화가 기획되기 훨씬 전에 모든 수록곡들이 만들어졌어요. 영화를 위해 형식적으로 쓴 게 아니라 실제로 본인이 느꼈던 이야기를 담아낸 거죠.

Q3. You already have finished your performance, but do you have any songs you want to recommend?

- First, ‘Bedford stop’! Every member in Nobrain loves this song the best among Big Pony’s and then I want to tell you about ‘Ready or Not.’ It's a song that I've shown in today's performance, and if you search YouTube, there's a music video that you can see as the behind version of this movie. Lastly, ‘Back to Seoul’ is a song, a real symbol of our movie. This movie is about a musician named Bobby and his stories that he thought over his international identity, found his identity, loved, broke up and met his friend... In fact, all the songs were made long before the movie was planned. He didn't write it formally for the movie, but he actually captured what he felt.  

 

Q4.이 영화가 어떤 영화가 되길 바라세요?

- 영화가 조금 진지하게 느껴질 수 있는데... 교포 친구들이 정체성에 대해서 고민을 종종 한다고 하더라고요. 영화를 보면서 우리가 그런 감성을 100% 공감할 수는 없잖아요. 그래도 그런 거를 이해해볼 수 있는 계기가 되면 좋겠어요. 저는 바비를 만나서 얘기를 많이 했고, 그래서 더 공감이 가는 부분이 많아요. 지금 저는 이 영화를 보면 눈물이 나요. 정말 많이 힘들었겠다 싶어서.

Q4. What kind of movie do you want this movie to be?

- The movie may seem to be little serious... I heard that overseas Koreans often worry about their identity. We can't fully sympathize with that feeling while watching the movie. But I hope it will be an opportunity to understand that. I met Bobby and talked a lot, so I have more parts that I can understand. Now I cry a lot when I watch this movie. Because I think it must have been really hard.

 

Q5.앞으로의 활동 계획은 무엇인가요?

- 노브레인을 계속해야죠. 죽을 때까지.

Q5. What is your activity plan for future?

- I will continue Nobrain. To the grave.
